Excellent book - required reading for Aperture users:
As others have already stated, this book on Aperture is extremely well written, and with its accompanying DVD of samples to follow the tutorials, is an excellent, almost necessary, accessory for any user of Apple's Aperture program. Mine is the version of the book for Aperture 1.1, and since the current version (1.5) has quite a few enhancements over 1.1 the book to get today is the same author's update for Aperture 1.5.
Great Book For Aperture LOWER VERSIONS:
BEWARE. one star just to get your attention!
Most of these Apple Training books are great and so is this one UNLESS you are using version 1.5 and up.
This book does not relate well to this newer version.
Wait for the new version book which is in the works for 1.5, I got burned! Don't do what I did. Although the back cover says there may be updates on their website, there are not. The software changed so much that this book is useless on 1.5!!
Just trying to save you money and time.

Just Right:
I had recently purchased a digital SLR (after decades of film photography) and I had many other scanned images 'from way back when.' And with a fairly big digital project looming, I needed to be 'in the know' with Aperture -- and fast. The book was written well and gave the hands-on learner as well as the visual student something to get a hold of. This is my first Amazon review of a product (though I've purchased a ton of stuff over the years), but I really wanted to give my 'Thumbs Up' to this book for... more info
