Very informative DSL editing knowlege base:
Very well written, informative, and easily read. The book I was very surprised how the flow of this book went from the basics of digital photography to the editing tools so easily. It was quite a find to discover the Capture NX software and the book work so well. I am very pleased with my output. The editing software allows the picture after being edited and saved to go backwards or start over at anytime in the future. That is a perfect combination.

The binding of the book is hopeless,peel off at the centre.The cover did not glue properly and it comes off at the binding, I hope I manage to gum it back as I have not even read the book halfway.The book review is not very clear, one must understand the program first but if so then it is quite useful. I will continue to read until finish to see whether the new book CaptureNX 2 is worth buying or not.Please call the publisher to bind the book properly as the book is not very cheap.Thank you

Look, you have three book choices if you want to learn NX: (1)The Nikon manual, (2)the CD by Jason Odell, and (3) this book by Ben Long. What's wrong with using all three sources of information when learning a new piece of software? All will add to your knowledge base to some degree depending on how you learn. Long's book is fine and helps you accomplish your goal of becoming proficient at NX. It's color illustrated, available, and is one of three of your only choices. You will not be wasting your money.more info
Real World Capture NX:
After reading Jason Odell's e-book on the same subject, this hard copy book did not add a great deal of information that I did not already know. However, it is good to have something in my library that covers basically the same topic in a more easily accessible way.
