Whoosh! Strange and wonderful things happen when a little girl lets her creativity fly in this buoyant picture-book debut. It's a gray, gray day when Katie decides to liven herself up. After all, the birds in the picture on her wall look a lot more exciting than she does, and much happier, too. So Katie puts on her brightest clothing, takes hold of a paintbrush, and lets her imagination take flight. But it's more than her spirits that end up soaring!

Wonderful book!:
We bought this for our KATIE. She is 3 1/2 and loves it, as does our 1 1/2 year old. The pictures are beautiful and the message is sweet and simple. Katie loves having a book with her name!
An imaginary delight!:
This is such a charming story. Little Katie is feeling gray and what does she do, but add some color and splash to her day. The illustrations are bright and fun. And while you're enjoying the story, you're learning about colors and how to make the best of a gray day in a spunky, imaginative way. I'm reading this to my 18 month old already!
Great Imagination:
My daughters (ages 2-4-6) loved this book. We checked it out at the library and they didn't want to return it. The story and the pictures are great and really fired up my kid's imagination. I'm going to get it for my 4 y.o. for Christmas since she loved it the most.
A wonderful story!:
Polly Dunbar's Flyaway Katie is a wonderful story. I bought this book for my 4 year old grandaughter and it's now her favourite! So I'm keeping an eye out for Polly's next book. I shall be first in the queue!
