I read all the reviews and found all the positive reviews accurate. here's the bottom line as we found our topper after two trips between Fla and NC: 1. withstood southeastern rainstorm. have to keep zipper away from front as instructed...people who claim to have wet items. 2. very reasonable. one must consider you will lose between 2 to 5 mpg whether due to weight or drag. 3. very roomy. we packed a week's worth of clothes for 2 adults, 1 child, one baby plus tent, bedding, sleeping bag and... more info
Effective product but not as described:
The Highland Soft Sided Car Top Carrier was a truly waterproof carrier and rode well and was very stable when placed between the existing standard roof rack on our Rav 4 Toyota. We traveled from New York State to Florida and at turnpike speeds without shift or displacement of any kind on the carrier.We used masking tape on the loose straps to eliminate the slapping at highway speeds.

Excellent Cargo Carrier:
I just purchased this for a trip to Disneyland. It held a full sized suitcase and five fairly large, stuffed to the max duffel bags. It was easy to install on top of my Chevy Tahoe and we experienced no wind or flapping noise described by other users. It folds up and stores easily....I'm so happy I'm not having to find a place to keep one of the hard plastic sided carriers when not using. I researched many cargo carriers and for the value this one is a winner.
Everything I read it would be:
This product was easy to install, easy to pack, and completely waterproof for our camping trip to the mountains. It rained for at least 3 hours of our 4 hour drive and the inside was totally dry. It held the tent, several folding chairs, and most of our camping supplies. Left plenty of room for the three dogs in the back of the truck. GREAT PRODUCT! I would buy it again in a second. P.S. I tied down the extra staps with zip ties.
