use for GPS: Excellent results:
I bought these speakers to use with my Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS installed on my motorcycle. They inserted easily in my HJC helmet and the sound is loud enough even at high speeds.
I made one change: I got rid of the wire/sound control cable and used a plain cable as the one they supplied is not long enough. I control the volume from the GPS which is easier anyway.
Just ok:
Although they arent the loudest speakers there fidelity makes up for it. They are a must if you take your bike on long trips. I personally like the speakers but would upgrade at first chance.
A bit fragile:
When I got these I was thrilled. Good sound, more than enough volume (I ride a 250cc scooter so no loud pipes). But I've only had them a couple of months and I think the internal wire has already become frayed. The sound is cutting in and out. It still works if hold it steady at the perfect angle but every time I turn, hit a bump, blink, etc. my music cuts out until I wiggle the wire to find the 'sweet spot' again. These would be great speakers if the wiring was beefed up a little.
Way too quiet for freeways:
Unfortunately, these headphones by themselves have pretty good sound (in a quiet room held right up to your ears), but they are not powerful enough for most portable devices for use in the helmet. My iPhone speakers are by far louder, but they're not comfortable in a helmet. I even bought the "Boostaroo" (a bigger disappointment) as recommended on Amazon, since some comments had suggested before I bought that they were on the quiet side. The Bust-a-roo did almost nothing to improve these speakers' volume... more info
