The ALT-J trick was worth the $5.00. (Even though on my Kindle it only works in one of the two menus the Guide says it does.) But the price per word is high by Kindle standards,

Great tips and tricks I'd never have found on my own. Thanks! I am very impressed with the Kindle and keep it close to me. I've found the email convenient, the browser a great help and the reader just the best. Publication of tips like those in the Kindle Fan Guide expand my utilization of the Kindle. My sole complaint is the availability of universal publisher agreements. I expect that will come in time.
