Customer Review: The B-52 Stratofortress often gets the back page to its newer counterparts. This book does a good job of covering the BUFF's action in Desert Storm, the B-52G's last hurrah. The book goes a bit farther than many in regards to photography. The images within are not the almost-cliche'd images... more info
Customer Review: This book is essential for anyone who has more than a passing interest in the Bone. It covers the basic history of the B-1 as it progressed from the B-1A program that was canceled by the Carter administration only to be revised and revamped as the B-1B under Ronald Reagan. Originally designed with a... more info
Customer Review: Warren Thompson's F-117 STEALTH FIGHTER UNITS OF OPERATION DESERT STORM provides a fine survey of the F-117, developed by Lockheed with Stealth technology to take place as a key component of Operation Desert Shield. Military collections strong on aviation and recent military history will find this a... more info
Customer Review: I found a reference to this book while trying to find an authentic MiG-21 camouflage paint scheme. The book is excellent in its limited coverage and contains very specialized material. Not designed for the casual aviation reader.
Customer Review: Noted aviation author Peter Davies concludes his two-volume history of USAF Vietnam War MiG killers with this volume covering the 1972-73 Linebacker I and II campaigns. The Air Force's record over North Vietnam in 1972 and 1973 was spotty at best: 3 Air Force crewmen made ace and 48 MiGs were... more info
Customer Review: This is a superb volume (with U.S Navy Phantom Migh-Killers 1965-1970) on U.S navy Phantom operations in Vietnam with many rare photos and first person accounts. It tells how the U.S navy having learnt it's lesson with the poor performance in the Rolling Thunder Campaign, created Top Gun and... more info
Customer Review: As always this book from the Osprey series does not disappoint. The Vigilante does not get the credit it deserves. For its time, it was a very modern aircraft design. It started out as a bomber but its role quickly became exclusively photo recon. The book does describe this early role as a bomber... more info
Customer Review: For a small book, this volume contains an amazing amout of detail and first-person recall of the A-7 Corsair II flown by naval aviators during Viet Nam. The book is easy to read, although the photographs (B&W) are quite small. A good edition to anyone's Naval Aviation library.
Customer Review: This Osprey book deals with the exploits of Navy F-4 drivers in the early portion of the Vietnam War and how they performed against the North Vietnamese Air Force and more importantly how they compared to the Navy F-8 Crusader pilots. The chapters follow the Vietnam War from its introduction thru... more info
Customer Review: Another good book in the Osprey series. Lots of good photos and color photos and color plates. There is also an actual B&W photo of an F-8 pilot ejecting (punchin' out) in flight at altitude. Luckily he was also recovered. Book talks about this "last of the gunfighters" and the F-8 did have gun... more info
