1.Puccini - La Boheme Pavarotti, Scotto, Niska, Wixell, Plishka, Levine, Metropolitan OperaPuccini - La Boheme / Pavarotti, Scotto, Niska, Wixell, Plishka, Levine, Metropolitan Opera
from Deutsche Grammophon
Price: $19.97

Customer Review:
I remember seeing this live original broadcast, and it was thrilling then. Pavarotti and Scotto are at their best, and Levine supports them and the rest of the cast perfectly. I am glad I went looking for it, and recommend it to any Puccini or Pavarotti lover.

2.Puccini - Turandot Franco Zeffirelli - Marton, Domingo, Mitchell, Plishka, Cuenod - James Levine, MET (1988)Puccini - Turandot / Franco Zeffirelli - Marton, Domingo, Mitchell, Plishka, Cuenod - James Levine, MET (1988)
from Umvd Labels
Price: $19.97

Customer Review:
Where's Cecil Beaton when you need him. When you have the greatest singers of the last half of the 20th century, Nilsson and Corelli, you don't need all this excess! The Met has toned this production down shortly after this broadcast. This production is so busy I hardly even noticed the singing.... more info

3.Three Tenors: In ConcertThree Tenors: In Concert
from Decca
Price: $19.97

Customer Review:
The Original Three Tenors Concert was held during a very warm month: July. The actual date was July 7, 1990 at Terme di Caracalla in Rome, Italy, to commemorate the World Cup Football finals. The location was spectacular: the fabled Roman ruins of the Baths of Caracalla. The idea for this concert... more info

4.The Berlin Concert - Live from WaldbuhneThe Berlin Concert - Live from Waldbuhne
from Deutsche Grammophon
Price: $19.97

Customer Review:
This concert is amazing! Placido Domingo, at 65 at that time, is, like always, at his best. Even with a baritone tone he still out shines younger singers. But in this concert both Anna and Rolando are just wonderful. They sing with much passion and their voices are fresh and clear. The choice of the... more info

5.Verdi - Aida Levine, Domingo, Millo, Metropolitan OperaVerdi - Aida / Levine, Domingo, Millo, Metropolitan Opera
from Deutsche Grammophon
Price: $19.97

Customer Review:
With the Metropolitan Museum of Art not far from the Metropolitan Opera House, this production exudes authenticity. One thing to watch for: does the high priest have a beard or not? He is the first person to sing onstage, and he should NOT have a beard. Egyptians could not grow beards, but the king... more info

7.Verdi - Otello Domingo, Fleming, Morris, Croft, Levine, Moshinsky, Metropolitan OperaVerdi - Otello / Domingo, Fleming, Morris, Croft, Levine, Moshinsky, Metropolitan Opera
from Deutsche Grammophon
Price: $19.97

Customer Review:
If there was anything to be replaced in this production, it would be Domingo. He is too old for the vocal demands of the role and never had the right voice for Othello, anyway. Otherwise, the performance is excellent and Renee Fleming's Desdemona can not be possibly bettered. I must admit not being... more info

8.Mozart - Die Zauberflote (The Magic Flute) Keenlyside, Roschmann, Hartmann, Damrau, Selig, Allen, Sir Colin Davis, Covent GardenMozart - Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) / Keenlyside, Roschmann, Hartmann, Damrau, Selig, Allen, Sir Colin Davis, Covent Garden
from BBC / Opus Arte
Price: $26.99

Customer Review:
Disappointing. Damrau is excellent: a truly psychotic and even frightening "Queen." The boys are weak-ish but not horrible. Really my only substantial gripe is the costumes, and mostly that of Papagena. In the middle of a tolerable 18th century-ish look for the rest of the cast we have Papagena... more info

10.Verdi - La TraviataVerdi - La Traviata
from Deutsche Grammophon
Price: $19.97

Customer Review:
I'm super bias on this make of La Traviata. It's the modern world of opera; besides, it's my favorite opera. I've seen the stage La Traviata over 15 times in 7 different states, and no matter where I see it, I just can't get enough. Anna and Rolando are just extraordinary. Who needs props when you... more info
