Customer Review: I have no experience with Visual Basic but I have taken a few classes in C. Overall the book is a good read, finished it in a week and the exercises are very productive. I would have like for there to be a 2nd part just on labs alone.
Customer Review: Messy. I have been reading lessons; I haven't got any big picture. I did not know why it worked like that. The only place I could look for "big picture" was usually lab, at the end of each chapter. This book also lacks reference to ADO.NET object and interface model which is essential in... more info
Customer Review: First there'e the misleading title - COMPLETE CONCEPTS & TECHNIQUES Once I went through this book, I found it very easy & thought I was really a PRO in VB6. Customer Review: To start with, this is the only book i read for the exam.
The objective questions at the end of each chapter, are exactly in the format that they appear in the exam. It helps you a lot in having the right mind-set, when you actually face it.
The exam covers exactly the same topics, that... more info
Customer Review: If you are new to Visual Basic.Net then this book is great for getting a basic understanding of the language. If you are using it to introduce yourself to the language then I would highly recommend it. However, this book miserably fails its' title in preparing for the 70-306 exam.

This book did not. It explained EVERYTHING in detail. It was exactly what I needed. If you need a book that... more info

Customer Review: I passed both exams, 305/306. This book was especially valuable in how much of asp.net + vb.net is covered. However, the book is so riddled with painfully time-consuming errors, it may not be worth buying unless the authors actively do something about erratta (sp?). I would have passed my exam a... more info
