Customer Review: Greatest Java book ever written. In fact, it's beyond a 'java book', once many tips from here are 'universal tips'. It's a great book for those who already have at least 4 or 5 programming years (code enough different projects), 'cause you'll notice several (apparently) minor mistakes that... more info
Customer Review: This is awesome! All developers MUST have this book. You can apply to not only Java but other programming language, Ruby, PHP, C# etc. But you have to have basic knowledge of Java to read this book though. Anyway, you should get it one now.
Customer Review: This is I believe the best book about basic Javascript on the market right now. Pros: Technically complete, solid writing style, understandable examples, no better intro books on the market. Cons: Authors repeatedly show that they prefer class-based object systems, which Javascript is not.... more info
Customer Review: This book is written really well in the sense that it explains the particular topic in a casual everyday manner, making it very easy to understand. I progressed through the entire book and found this to be the case regardless of difficulty of topic.

Customer Review: This is an excellently written book. It is written in a classroom delivery format and it presents the serious illusion of a lecturer/tutor standing and presenting the information in front of you whilst having a conversation with you about the nuances of Java.... I cannot plug this book enough so to... more info
Customer Review: Prior to this book, I spent many years trying to understand concurrency with Java, but I failed. During that time, I actually read four books. When it comes to concurrency (thread safety and multi-threading), this book is a definitive guide. During the past two years, I have been constantly... more info

Customer Review: Although the online documentation for Android is very good, I much prefer to have a coherently written book that I can flip through for reference. In learning Android I have found Mr Meier's book to be absolutely invaluable. It is written from the point of view of a professional, working programmer... more info
Customer Review: I used Kathy Sierra's "Sun Certified Programmer & Developer for Java 2 Study Guide" to pass both of those certification exams with flying colors. Although the overly jokey format of that book was more cringe-worthy than engrossing, the book contained solid information and was somewhat easy to... more info
Customer Review: If you have seen the light of ORM and want a good technical read on this subject, this book is not for you. JPA here, Hibernate there, JPA here, Hibernate there. All over the place with nothing on GUID and how Hibernate/JPA handles that. Please split this book into two books next time around... more info
