Customer Review: This book is very concise and it tells a lot about the subject including other topics such as XSLT, RSS, and many other web technologies related to XML. Would highly suggest buying.
Customer Review: I work with a lot of school leavers and people outside IT and often have to advise them on how to empower themselves in IT in the right way. Surely SQL and databases are one of the first topics people should understand. HTML was also high on the list. With this book, the author has combined all of... more info
Customer Review: The Pro SQL Server 2008 XML book dives right into the details of XML from the first page. This book was written by a developer for developers, and the author goes to great lengths to demonstrate all the concepts presented in the book. In my opinion, this book scores highly in many areas. The... more info
Customer Review: XML Schema can be really confusing but this book has made it much more clear to me. In particular, I muddled through my project never really understanding things like namespaces and elementFormDefault and weirdnesses like why complex types can have simple content, until I decided to sit down and... more info
Customer Review: I usually read just to get a big picture. I thought this did the job. Dummies Books are a lot more palatable than other books on topics as dry as this.
Customer Review: This book has been a tremendous help to me.
I have been a basic programmer since the 1980s, but have tried to move into object oriented programming without instruction. I purchased this book as a reference. After using it for a while as such, I decided to go completely through it - front to... more info
Customer Review: If you are looking for a book to learn basics of Microsoft Access then you are looking at the wrong book. If you want to impress your boss with Access Macros, it is again a wrong book.
It is however an excellent book that covers the whole nine-yard of Microsoft Access VBA development. It... more info
Customer Review: Messy. I have been reading lessons; I haven't got any big picture. I did not know why it worked like that. The only place I could look for "big picture" was usually lab, at the end of each chapter. This book also lacks reference to ADO.NET object and interface model which is essential in... more info
XML Schema from O'Reilly Media, Inc. Price: $26.37
Customer Review: A real need for further editions on this book. As others have commented, it's very poorly constructed, poorly indexed and you'll be hard-pressed to quickly find accurate definitions. As other posters have suggested, O'Reilly should be worried that this one got published in this state.
Customer Review: I bought Harold's book to help me move from XHTML to XML and to handle data with PHP which does not fit well in a relational database / SQL. This book bogs down quickly in very long explanations & examples which could have been a fraction of the size. I think it has good coverage, but Harold... more info
