Customer Review: Extensive instruction on matting pictures for personal to archival matting. Practically anything you would need to know about matting. Not a lot about framing pictures but a very basic start at simple framing near the end of the book.
Customer Review: Mitchell has done agreat job by gathering all this data and turning it into a thoroughbred classic on antique picture frames.
Academic quality could be compared to Framing in the Golden Age but lacks the in depth detail of that great book.
Customer Review: What an amazing story of the way period frames came into their own. This book is the perfect way to start an understanding of the value of frames or to enhance your knowledge tremendously. This is a must have for anyone interested in the art of framing!
Customer Review: This is a nice book to read about different frame types. If you want to learn the basics, there are other books to choose from. This is for those that already have the skills and want to make better frames.
