Customer Review: If your looking for the examples in VB, forget it. At one time the author said he was going to do the VB translations. Never happened to my knowledge. To top that off, I MISSED MY RETURN DATE.
Customer Review: This was my first "for Dummies" book purchase and it will be the last (unfortunately, I also purchased "Web Sites for Dummies" at the same time. A How-To book this not....you get no step-by-step instructions, what you do get is a lot of information that is generally available on the internet with a... more info
Customer Review: This is a good reference book. However, if you know nothing about creating web sites it may be of little use. Also, if you wish to start a blog or a blogging business, this book is NOT for you! It only talks about [...], which is so easy to use it hardly deserves a chapter.
Customer Review: This is a helpful resource for new and experienced designers, though it is not groundbreaking. It's more of a compendium of approaches. I believe the editing was not very thorough, as I found several typos.

I particularly found useful the chapter on deployment which also covers deployment using Maven with the GWT-Maven plug-in,... more info
Customer Review: I suggest reading the definitive guide first but I keep this pocket version on my desk (well, I know it's around here somewhere). A useful quick reference for web designers that have abandoned the outmoded world of tables-based layout.

I have always been happy with the Administrator's Pocket Consultant series of books. I recommend this book for anyone looking to keep up on the changes in... more info
Customer Review: Is this Kindle edition price accurately listed? $20 seems a lot to ask for an edition that has $0 resale value. Is there something in this Kindle version that outshines the majority of other Kindle books? From the sample, I see a poorly formatted TOC, and no index (or "searchable terms" index... more info
Customer Review: This is the first programming book that I can remember since the old Windows Programming book by Charles Petzold that really was a satisfying read. Its probably not as polished as some books but it makes up for that in its concise and effective style that is extremely rare in Java programming books.... more info
Customer Review: This book is certainly the most complete CSS reference I have ever encountered. For that I give it five stars. It is not a textbook, but contains almost everything you would want in a CSS quick reference. If you are new to CSS, I would highly recommend getting this book along with a good... more info
