All of the same slammin' features as the original Dagger - comfortable 24 3/4" scale, Ebony fingerboard, Dagger tip inlay and unique Dagger sound holes on either side of the solid maple center block. This Big Dagger will have a traditional three to a side headstock, Chrome hardware, Chrome covered pickups and the new added features of an original Bigsby Tremolo with a roller tune-o-matic style bridge. The Dagger models from B.C. Rich give you the ability to have a guitar with the tone of highly sought after hollow body jazz guitars, but with a an edge that only we could provide. To achieve this classic jazz box tone and performance B.C. Rich utilized a vintage set-neck construction. With a set-neck instrument a dove-tail piece is cut in the neck and the body. This puzzle piece design allows for a very tight fit and sustain that comes very close to a neck-through.
B.C. Rich designed their BDSM humbucking pickups to provide a solid sound and to be durable while delivering high output. BDSM stands for Broad Dynamic Sonically Matched. Which simply means that the pickup is designed to reproduce a wide range of frequencies accurately (broad dynamic). Then they are tested and matched in pairs (Neck and Bridge) by their inherent individual and signature tonal and output characteristics to give a solidly balanced tone (sonically matched).
A deep arched top is used on several B.C. Rich models. The deep arch is achieved by increasing the body center by approximately 5/8" and then gently sloping the arch toward the side of the instrument and leveling out just as the slope reaches the edge. A deep arch top when applied to a B.C. Rich shape gives an air of elegance and sophistication. Many of the B.C. Rich Handcrafted instruments are requested with a deep arch top style. This year B.C. Rich is offering more deep arch tops in their production models in a variety of shapes and colors.
